  • Solving exponential equations using 1 to 1 properties and exponent laws​​​​
  • Formative Assessment 
    • Objective 1: Solve a exponential equaton with single exponential base (integer)
    • Solve a exponential equation with multiple exponential bases (integer and rational)
Tuesday 5-10-22 
  • Solving Exponential equations using logarithms​
  • You either "cancel" a base using inverses
  • OR you use the definition of logarithm to rewrite without exponential
  • Formative Assessment
    • Objective 1: solve a base b equation
    • Objective 2: solve a base 10 equation
    • Objective 3: solve a base e equation
Wednesday 5-11-22 ​
  • Finish solving exponential equations using log and/or exponent properties
  • Start Graphing Exponential functions
    • label the horizontal asymptote
    • label the y intercept
      • (0,f(0))
    • find the x intercept (when possible)
      • solve f(x) = 0
    • find additional points on the graph 
      • (1,f(1))
      • (2,f(2)) 
  • Start Graphing Exponential Systems 
    • same as Graphing Exponential Function
    • Add second function
    • solve f(x) = g(x) to find x coordinate of solution of system
      • take solution to equation and replace value of variable into easiest function to find remaining missing value of coordinate in solution of system
  • Start solving logarithmic equations
    • log = log of same base 
      • use the 1 to 1 property
    • Solutions of logarithmic equations MUST generate ONLY positive INPUT for logarithm
    • log m = number
      • use inverse of log
      • use definition of log to find unknown exponents
    • a log m = number
      • divide by a 
        • use inverse of log
        • use definition of log to find unknown exponents
    • log m+ log n = number
      • condense logs using 
        • log m +long n  = log mn
      • then either use inverse or definition to solve for exponents
    • log m- log n = number
      • condense logs using
